Only one insurance company will touch me fully comp ?1200

not sure mate.. um... i mean i was getting quotes exactly like this for vr6's a few years ago.. which is why i bought a valver in the end.
at the time i was 27/28.. so not much older than yourself.

i put my high quotes down to the fact that i'd only been driving a few years.

but..  since then people keep saying they have much better deals.

what colour is the '6 ?

check the heated seats work.. check the history carefully.. that all the dates add up etc..

Admiral worked out the best for me ?700 fully comp, with mods all declared and my missus on it too.

Helps to be 32 with over 10yrs no claims I supppose

Admiral/Elephant.co.uk are the cheapest for me ?790 fully comp.

Got any more details on the car, mileage, service history etc...

?5,000 is a very, very, very steep price for an L reg VR6.  ?2,500 would be more like it.

For ?5,000 you should expect nothing less than a late Highline with full history and reasonable miles.

I used to go with Elephant, but Norwich Union have recently 'quoted me happy' with ?420 fully comp (3 years no claims, 30 years old).

?5k is a lot for an L reg VR6, even if it is a minter!  As already said, that sort of money should get you a good to very good condition late Highline.

I spoke to Norwich Union about my 16v, as soon as I mentioned the mods they said no. I am due to start shopping around in May for new quotes. As I will be 30, I expect to pay a lot less.

I hate to say it but yeah, insurance is highly unfair to us VR drivers.

I got 2 years no claims and got quoted ?858 fully comp, thas for me n the missus 35/34yrs old plus i got 3 points for speeding too (34mph in a 30!)

Bit of advice for you, get a named driver on your insurance who has lots of no claims, a spouce if poss, brings it down a lot!

I'm selling my VR to if your liking them, take a looksy in cars for sale.  Cheaper and More for Less than ur teachers.

its a tad pricey i should get a grand for my other car to soften the blow.

its a late L and has 70k on the clock and is mint inside no wear to the seats 1 scuff on the front bumper thats it, his logbook is like a bible.

i went to see a storm apparantly mint condition with 130k on the clock the bloke wanted ?6500 for it and it was no way mint looked very tired.

black one with aircon at 120k m ?4500 that one had so many stone chips it looked like someone had took a shot gun to the front of it.

?2500 for an m reg automatic there goes the fun already.

cheers

hes going to be hard pushed to shift it so ill go haggle him down

I don't know if it's any good to you but www.churchill.co.uk always give me cracking quotes and i'm only 22. I just did a quick quote on a VR6 94L worth £4500, 3 yrs no claims, parked on drive with a sigma S32 alarm on it and i was quoted £1023 comp and £980 thft, worth a try????

Ahhh, then that's a whole different kettle of fish!

£5,000 for a mint Corrado VR6 with 70k on the clock and full history is not such an unreasonable price.
