Title: Paint code
Post by: Dan_GTi8v on 17 February 2011, 17:49
I have a black 1997 8v GTi, did this come in more than one black or is that enough info to get the code?
I know there is a lot of info here already about it, but I'm having trouble as there is no sticker in the boot, I dont have the manual, and its had a reg change as its imported from northern island so it isnt on some databases

cheers :)

sorry to ressurect an old(ish) thread, but just found out the code is LC9Z which is black magic metallic. Doesn't look very metallic to me though I'm no expert!

I don't know much about it tbh, would it of faded or anything over the years causing it to look non met? and would spraying it in new paint make the new areas look brighter/shinier that the original paint?

LC9Z is black magic met, to get areas touched in could lead to a mismatch tbh.
