mate of mine done his roof so a stole abit hes on here so he will let you know
-
fitted new skuttle panel today and got the back box straight but now blows so il sort that out tomorrow
-
You can get the 3m carbon fibre wrap on eBay if you only need a small amount, I got mine through work as we have a graphic studio but the min order is 100cm x 122cm at around £40
Make sure you get the 3m stuff as the cheaper stuff is just a carbon print
Also you will need a heat gun or a hairdryer so you can stretch it to get a smooth finish on the corners
-
Cracking pics... looks great.
-
cheers dude
-
got bored today so lowered it about 25mm on the front and 10mm on the back

Well what a long day, story for the past few weeks, closer look into the corrado the floor is rotten and will cost to much to bring back
So now it's going to turn into mk3 golf G60,
Started today with the brakes so it's now sporting Brembos of a Ibiza mk3 cupra R there 305s will add pics later
Next job is to strip the engine new water pump cambelt etc, then fit it
Some people mite say why you fitting a g60 engine with 160 bhp well it's had a fair few pounds at G Werks spent on it and in the corrado was running 265 bhp,
Well that's the story so far il keep u updated

Sad times for the 'rado
Although a 265bhp G60 in a mk3 will be pretty epic
-
Shame about the rado Mate, very sad times
At least the heart is saved and going into the 3  (and let us know if there's any nice bits on the rado for sale )
-
sad times for the rado, but finally a mk3 to be interested in :afro:
-
Sad news on the Corrado but it will be an epic mk3 Golf with that kind of power.
-
Well what a fun day
The disks on the brembo's where catching on the bottom ball joint so we came up with the idea of using the corrado hubs (corrado was running vr6 hubs) so after stripping them off the radio, the first attempt at putting them on the mk3 wasent as stright forward as we thought. So after a few hours and some modding all is on and running sweet.
Because of the radio hubs it has widened the track about 20mm and brought the front wheels slighty forward and the end resault looks fantastic :)
I only took a before and after pic as we didn't have time to stop and take any.

Is that one left and one right wheel? Or are the calipers on different sides of the hubs?
-
correct
-
Left and right mate :)

Finding a G60 lump is not easy.

this will be nice when done

No not a easy job mate, even more so with robs charge cooler setup, we had to put the battery in the boot to make room for the cooler
Also had to make a custom wiring loom half G60 have golf
Change from rod to cable gear change
Change from cable clutch to hydro clutch
Mix and match engine mounts from both
Flip the rad upside down as the water pipes are on the wrong side
Plus loads of little bits of custom stuff

Finding a G60 lump is not easy.
as said finding a good G60 engine is not easy, as for the conversion i have lost alot of hair, in no way is it easy, loom were a b!tch, going from a hydraulic clutch from cable took abit of playing with and making the cable gear linkage fit of the corrado fit the golf and getting the chargecooler rad to fit was hard, same with the oil cooler and last was my boost pipe wont fit with the battery in so thats now in the boot

mister rust came to vist and were in the process of buying a house so would have never have had the money to fix it up, so took the heart out :)
-
Ok so lots of fabricating etc... Damn, do love a g60 whine!
Real good work though lads! One ofthe best on here for sure! Think we need a vid :D the least you can do now you've deprived me of doing one :D should have lied :D
What power is it putting out?

They are 2 1/4 inch wide,
-
longlife are exhausts are the shiz! all bespoke (in the one by me anayway) and made up specifically for your car when you bring it in, i.e. not off the shelf like other exhausts and tailored totally to what you want!

lol its really simple to do mate, i used the battery tray from the under the bonnet to fix it to, just follow the guides and you will be fine
-
Cheers man, I'm gonna go scrap yard hunting at the weekend  how did you vent it? any chance you could post up a pic?
-
Yeah was real easy todo it, A mate lol
You can vent the battery if it has a vent output just run a pipe to the vent behind the bumper. But it's best to use a dry cell battery as they don't need venting and will never leak as there solid state (no battery acid in them)
Run a power cable to the starter from the battery (don't use audio cable) welding cable is the cheapest though
Then earth the battery in the boot (make sure you strip the paint off so its bare metal)
For the other small power cables coming off the battery terminal just use a junction box and tuck them away under the bonnet somewhere
Thats pretty much it mate
-
Cheers Ian :)
-
No worries mate
If you get stuck drop me a pm and I'll talk you through it step by step
Car looking sweet as ever mate!!!
