I was debating on mud flaps for the VR but i don't want to look like i drove through halfords?
What are your views on it? I find something is missing on the back of my car but i can't quite figure it out..

I like the mudflaps look, but not those stupid flappy ones that chavs fit to scoobies to pretend they are rally cars.
I've just put my VW flaps back on the back of my car, and I think it finishes it off. Just got to find some front gti ones now.

Any pictures to help me make my mind up?

The wiper?
Nah in seriousness, another gay vote from me
-
Mud flaps would be the first thing I'd remove if they were fitted. Apart from looking 'ghey' they're a bit too old and sensible, not that effective and if not cleaned properly can be a bit of a rust/crud trap.
-
I know Wayne doesn't like, them. Nor do i but i seen some on a Saxo that suprisingly looked really smart and made the car look really nice! (I am a saxo fan when not in the hands of Chavs!)
Thanks Dom..
Nige_s - You have a good point there!
-
I think the proper 1s look good, they seem to make them look lower and wider so a yay from me
-
thr original ones with the vw badge on them look good. sh!tty aftermarket ones look crap
-
defo a yay!!
have a look at mine mate, finish the arch off nicely!!!
:)

I always remove them, hatefull things
-
Deffo andywash.
I think they suit some cars, some not.
No for golf
Yes for evo/scooby
-
i have the vw ones on mine and i think they look aright
-
I had the original VW ones on mine but I took them off on account of them looking ghey.
-
i had the vw ones on the front buy they dragged on the road when i lowered it, the rear ones are still on but will be removed very soon.
-
Mine still has both of the front and rear genuine VW ones fitted, admittedly i have contemplated removing them but have hesitated due to all of this recent sh!tty weather...hmmmm?
-
Extreme amounts of G@yness on a Dub...
We don't own rally cars! And most us drop it low which looks Terrible with mudflaps!
Agreed that on a "Standard" Evo/scooby they look cool, but even when they're dropped, rip that shizz off!
-
I personally like the mudflap idea, but only the tiny OEM ones that are tiny! Such as the vauxhall ones on the corsa B sport.
Also i think a flush bootlid would suit your VR nicely to finish the back end off!
Would look smoother than a snake slithering through Immac...
-
Flushed as in badges and wiper or do you mean completely relocating the number recess as the later doesn't look right on a mk3 imo plus the fact every chavalated Golf in the UK has one along with a 'badboy' bonnet.
-
I have my oem flaps on and have a nice pic of them. Someone pm me your mobile number and I'l send you a pic so you can post on here?
Come summer and they will be removed. pointless in the summer.
-
Yes that mean flushing the badges/wiper arm(or bung) basically everything but the plate recess. Then fit an American plate recess for euro flavour :p
-
Yaaaaayyyyyy

^ This (though not in red!) is what looks good. Mine came with the genuine proper ones with the white badges, but I had to remove them to fit my valance :( was a sad day
The bullsh!t rally ones and other aftermarket crap looks chavtastic, but oem all the way!
-

Need to fit the complete tailgate, unless you have an estate
-
They look on at standard ride height and silly lowered. Unless you want to be a cool kid and run them when really low so that they break after a few bumps, but I'd prefer not to intentionally break things.

I just laughed at this comment whilst swallowing the last piece of my Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap from Tescos, and in the process the last bit came back up, so thanks for that.
As the the mudflaps, I had them on my old GL, I took them off in the end.

I love that stance! What kind of wheel width/offset/lows/arch work would it take to get that look? I'm guessing 9J rims, mega low offset (et10?) down 90(ish)mm and arches rolled/pulled?
-
i want camber/spacers :D
-
nice shinny SS back box showing, not mud flaps would look well.
but your car and each to there own
-
that car just looks stupid, I know its just my opinion and from replys most ppl think it looks nice, but to me its
and also good luck driving anywhere in the uk with that exhaust

Something like that, i'm going for maybe 9j rim with an offset of et15 i think it is, then i will get the arch work done..
-
The last owner of mine had put the car through a hedge (or something) so the flaps were missing off the passenger side. Much preferred the look, to pulled them off the driver side too :)
-
LOL @ me being HALF polish
Some good things apart from workers come out of Poland :lipsrsealed:
-
Completly Random but while on AB25 i stumbles across this
(http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/jonnypolish/IndysPolishtwin.jpg)
LOL at it being the FRONT of that golf!
Looks exactly like indy's but isn't as low and doesn't have a murdered Vento front!
I will try to steal some of Indy's pics!
