Do any other engines have the same size air box as the tdi 130?
I know the maf is bigger but is the actual box the same?

AFAIK the panel filter is the same size across the entire MK4 range apart from the lower petrol models - think they have a difference air filter
Just buy a Pipercross filter for £35 or keep using the standard filter from VW for approx £15
-
Without fail Rhyso
Well ive replaced the air intake tube with 76mm duct so looks OEM still and now just looking for a non oil foam filter.
Put my £6.04 debadged grill on, not every ones taste but i like the smooth look
-
Theres a filter for a 1.8t for sale so i was wondering if it would be a snug fit still.

Christ you've got it all backwards haven't you

Mod the golf then ask her
or
Ask her then mod the golf.........
Never had such a difficult question before
Owell im happy with the golf as she stands so im thinking its the second option............ or maybe the first
How thick is the 130's front arb? Just looking at bushes (not the green sort)
-
3rd option - MOD the Golf and NEVER ask her
not sure what the standard thickness is - think its around 19mm - 22mm :undecided:
Get a rear ARB before you think about upgrading the front
-
I like your thinking
23mm sound about right? lol.
Front wheel drives always benefit from the rear, on my corsa you could buy a cavalier rear arb drill two holes and bolt it straight on! Rear arb for £8. I miss those days
-
Yeah the wife drives the golf more than me, i just swap cars for a day or so and mod/feck about with it when i have it, most of the time she does'nt even notice what i've done.
It took her a week to notice i'd changed the interior bits from silver(r32) to carbon look wrap and sprayed the front grill black and i don't think she has ever noticed the mk5 rear wiper

One word - Female.
End of lol.
My gf notices it all then asks "how much was that" then made to feel bad as i have money on the credit card
