Title: More Bio-ethanol in Petrol
Post by: Stirring Moose on 16 January 2011, 11:38
Greetings from the Mk.3 section! Been reading a bit recently about proposals to increase the percentage of bio-ethanol in petrol and it's possible effects on older cars. I've just started a thread about it over in Dub-Tug land, here's the link if you want to check it out;

Top marks to the AA for their prompt and helpful response.

As for the E10 fuel situ... Slick might have a valid response and it might be nothing to worry about.. then again..  :undecided:

Still... people were very concerned when leaded petrol went out to pasture and most of us have been ok since!

no they dont, vws havent needed leaded fuel since the mid 70s or there abouts. mk1s certainly dont need leaded fuel anyway :)

  Really, that far back!?....  I know they don't like regular unleaded!  But thats an octane issue.
