Title: winter wheels - black or dark grey?! help!!
Post by: p3eps on 05 January 2011, 18:13
Help!
I've just taken my wheels out to the powdercoaters and they've offered me gloss black or a very dark grey anthracite colour. I'm I'm two minds what to go for.  The grey will look cleaner when dirty, but I know that black is a safe option as my current wheels are black.

Does anyone have a photo of a silver car with dark grey wheels to give me an idea?  I have to phone in the morning and confirm my decision!

Very Dark Grey/ Anthracite. 100%. You have black Tallys. The Anthracite with the Silver body will be classy.

Here you go:
SteveP's Reflex Silver car as it was ages ago!

Who are you using Pete?
PPS?

Their anthracite coating is stunning...whilst their gloss black isn't as shiny as painted black.
I'd go anthracite. Oh yeah, I did:

They are great in this filthy weather..they just go dull.

Thanks for the opinions and the pics.  I think I'll go for the dark grey just to have a different look for winter.

Glen - yeah its PPS, so it will be the same colour as yours.  Their demo wheel looked much darker in the office than yours do though.  They were almost black, with a few silver flakes in there?

Hopefully I'll get them back for the weekend, and the tyres arrived yesterday.
Should be on just in time for the next wave of snow

Mine look almost black in artificial light...but the sparkles lighten them in sunlight/daylight.
Cracking finish Dave gets on them though, at PPS.
