No problems mate, 30 is max, but I know for sure 30 won't turn up no matter how many put their names down (last time I organized it I had 25 down and only 10 turned up), so you can let me know as late as you can.

Why be embarrassed? Most people at RR I've been to end up with LESS HP they expected. Some come boasting about a 200hp remap and then end up with 190hp, then spend a lifetime searching for the 10 missing horses

Bring it down, I find RR helps find potential problems with the car

Getting more is a rarity but have seen a few, mostly as Khare says its usually less bhp than expected.

Just a note to say that in my experience (5 different RR's) JKM's is an accurate one, so you wont get overinflated, exaggerated figures like a few I could mention!

In my experience JKM are also the most accurate. I remember 2 completely standard edition 30s went on and 1 was running vpower, the other standard fuel. I remember the standard fuel one got bang on factory figures and the one running vpower got 2 HP more.

Premier inn? PM Rhyso and a few others stayed there last year AFAIK.

Yeah there's plenty of decent cheap B&Bs and hotels in the area, premier inn is probably the cheapest of the bunch. Just thinking though, try and bring mates with you so you can share the costs of petrol/boat journey. Will make it easier on the wallet otherwise you're going to dish out a hell of a lot of money for a RR day   :undecided:

Not really :( most are the same age as me with less years and more points on thier license!

Id be tempted to insure it as a standard car just for the day, but it looks like most places wont even touch it as a standard car due to its age.

My mate works for Holiday Inn, and he is usually well up for these things. Mega cheap room ftw. Probs get two rooms if a few of us go up.

They can only confirm once the car is there, but they said ideally it would be best to higher it to be safe.

Hi All,

We do manage to get most cars on the dyno 'one way or another '
It usually involves a little bit of creative thinking due to the small ramp leading into the dyno room.
The main issue is when the front wheels drop into the dyno, the cars can tend to belly out, which isnt ideal and makes running it tricky.

Hope this helps
Kate

Splitter is around an inch off the ground, maybe a little more. Don't mind that getting battered, just the sump I worry about.

Jamie, are you arriving the day before? I'll be staying there the night before, probs won't be staying afterwards.

I feel bad now that you just posted this but it looks like I'm definitely out.

I'm looking at over 200 squiddies to just get the car in a position to take it out for the day and i just cant afford that, especially for just the day!

We may have use of a trailer now so I'll see about trying to bring it down on that to just join in for the day, but we will have to see.

Il let you know about my 2 + 1's also. Il try and still make it down to spectate or even get my daily merc up on the rollers instead! haha

Or normal talk? ok....

Putting your car on the big machine thingy is less painful for your car than travelling along the motorway at a fast speed.

Better?

Can I remind everyone to be there on time. This is quoted from Kate @JKM

Quote
We ask for all runners to be here for 9am so they can sign in and we know who is here. If people are running a little late then it won’t be a problem however we do get though the cars quite quickly so it is best for everyone to be here in the morning, don’t want anyone tuning up late and being disappointed because the event has finished and everyone has gone home (it’s happened before )

Quote
It can also jumble the running order around of people miss there slot so best to get everyone here.

And finally
Quote
Just a reminder the workshop will be closed on the day so feel free to drive into the rear yard and park up, if you run out of space then there is spaces at the front of JKM and also on the sideroad.
Can I ask that cars are not parked in front of the two sets of large gates of the businesses next to us as these will be in use throughout the day.

Just to let you guys know, JKM do get through the cars quickly. At the moment 24 are on the list and from previous times I've been to JKM RR days, it takes them about 3-4 hours to do that number, so at about 1 it'll all be coming to a end (there about). Do make sure you try and be there for 9am for the safety briefing, payment and banter.

Feel free to arrange convoys by the way! I'm meeting Adam and some of his mates at Rownhams services at 8am and then Len and Billy at hedge end (junction 7 M27 shopping area) at about 8.20am. If you feel like joining us there's the times

You can bring what you want and go where you want on the list. I've right now made the list in order of generation and then engine, however if it's more convenient for you to go early/late/middle then let me know and I'll squeeze you in wherever.

My friend that I'm coming down with has a Caddy with a 1.8T engine in, it's the baby blue one, you'll see it. I think it is worthy of being in the mag (it's been featured in another mag before, can't remember which though). :afro:

230bhp/220ft-lb

I need to sort mine too! Heat soak dropped the power to 220 by the last run. Boost was fluctuating (only got 007 fitted), which is why he reckoned it lost 5-10bhp + the sh!t ebay intercooler as he called it :D

So I went away with a £500 future bill :D Custom intercooler and Forge 007p + yellow spring!

Uploading mayo vid now!

RR Figures from my Passat = a very respectable

179.90 bhp and approx 210 lbs/ft

Very happy with that!
Apparently a little rich top end and maybe a coil pack on way out!
So it could have been even better!

....Not so!! Saint Steve was the one who said that and I know for a fact that it's his preference. I much prefer smaller 'jars' on laydees.

Unless of course he was referring to jars of mayo

Fortunately, no-one seems to have recorded me saying how I was having trouble stopping myself from tickling the backs of Khare's lovely girlfriend's thighs - She is long legged and was wearing a very short skirt with long wooley socks which left a couple of inches of nakedness. She told me that Khare forces her to dress like that...   Good man!

Either way, she's a very nice lady with a happy disposition  :afro:

I really enjoyed the day inspite of drizzly weather. It was good to see Khare again after a long time and also Shady since only a couple of weekends ago with his wingman Rodney Dan in the caddy. Also, some of those young dudes with the brightly coloured head wear, especially the owner of the DBP GTI.

I need a new coilpack but that's one of the good things about a dyno run at JKM - It checks my beloved car's health.

Robin - Nakia loved you, she said you were a funny person! She'll be with me at the next one! It was great to see you too, glad to hear you're still recording music and doing the things you love! :afro: I'll let you know when another one at JKM happens (I'll let Kate know, but I'll message you as well, if not I know where to find you...Mk5 forum ).

Adam - Don't know when JKM will put the pictures and graphs up on there, but it doesn't normally take very long. It'll probably be up this week at some point

javalin - The Golf+ guy told me because of the lack of action over the winter the issue with the article may be released earlier than usual. I'm guessing in the next few months.

Last year when Golf+ came to the R-tech RR day in January, the issue with us in it was in May.

I don't buy any magazines but I'll know when to buy Golf+ as a few threads on here will pop up regarding mug shots and the article being written

No worries, hopefully next we'll find some better roads!
