They are an arsey bunch at the best of times but it can get pretty mental in there sometimes, why dont they have a mod or is it just that non of them can be trusted?
I can only assume that the constant b!tching is putting off any new members who may be watching the site.
-
You mean Slick and Chuff havent been given the job?
-
They did have a mod for a short while
-
I'm a regular and have to admit I get put off posting quite often. A mod would be a good idea - if only to keep things on-topic a bit more.
-

No, I believe they haven't.

I'm an old member and they put me off!

^^ u used to have a mk5 didnt you?
-
Yes, I've had a MK2 in White, 6 MK5's and the MK6 GTD that I have now.
They argue about DSG vs manual ALL THE TIME and have a terrible attitude towards non GTI cars and tend to drag every conversation wildly off topic, which is the nature of a forum but it always ends up about the same things DSG vs Manual, GTI vs anything you bought and the colour of your car.....
As I type I'm trying to stop abuse on a new mk6 member before it starts as he has a 1.6 match bluemotion which will no doubt be treated with contempt by the usual crew.
I understand this is a GTI forum but it used to be and still can / could be a nice place to be for all golf drivers.
A MK6 forum mod would be most welcome, but please not one of the "mk6 abuse click".

just had a look... its very argumentative down there... must be all the stress!
-
Stress of spending every penny you have to beat the neighbours, then realising that the paint on the bumper is slightly dappled, and no one bothered spraying your spare wheel well?

Lol or the fact that someone mentioned winter tyres.
-
Or they amount of money they lose just taking delivery of the car!
-
Why doesn't the MK5 section mod(s) cover there as well?
After all they're they same car. :lipsrsealed:
Jonathan.

Sorry doc, I am fully aware that you are one of the 'normal' ones
-
My "scorched earth policy" rules me out of Mk6 modding. More the pity.
-
Sorry doc, I am fully aware that you are one of the 'normal' ones
No need for an apology just made me laugh, mines a car for work, simples.
I don't have the time to go looking for faults, it works job done.
I do love them though :-)

Wow a Mk6 owner WITH a sense of humour? Maybe this 2012 stuff is actually real...

-
Thanks guys, the MK6 guys are ok really, they just need to get into the groove and spend a little more time in other parts of this forum - I still cant believe they've not seen this thread!
Lets see what happens over there in 2011

Short memory Doc! Remember you taking the piss about white cars recently. I even remember you changing your sig to take the piss out of the "WHITE GOODS COLOUR"
Like in this thread ;http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=174758.0 (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=174758.0)
Should practice what you preach i think!
-
If it's not a daft question do you really think I have an opinion about the colour of peoples cars or do you think I was bating a particular member following some less than flattering comments? You were only too happy to join in the colour / diesel basing so why the sour grapes weeks later?
9 / 10 urinals and washing machines are White FACT
When you jibed about diesel and tractors etc was I bothered, not one bit
Im happy to see that you clearly follow some of my writings, did you read the bit about adults and there choices of colours, engines and gearboxes etc? :-)
Circles? It's like a bleeding roundabout
-
is that a bit of jealousy there sundaydriver?
-

No mate, not jealous one little bit.
Got to admit Doc seem's to know his stuff and has had plenty of VW's BUT when he get's on his high horse preaching about "He had to save a new member" and "How its allways petrol V diesel, colour etc etc etc etc" makes me  ESPECIALLY when he STARTS some of the b!tching. Trying to make out he's perfect for MK6 Mod but he's NOT.
The MK6 section defo needs a Mod but DOC for Mod, Not in my opinion.
My vote's for Snoopy, doesnt b!tch, reply's to 99% of the thread's and also knows his VW's.

Oh and by the way DOC dont flatter yourself that i follow your writings, i was in that one!

Your right of course, snoopy would be a good candidate

This will all be down to me - I'll keep my head down in the mk6 section for a while and see if it all becomes harmonious......
-
From what I read in there, there is very little in the way of general conversation. At some point or another one of the mk6 chaps will have a dig at someone else.
At least Doc comes out and talks to the general forum population. Think the only other two that do are VW KEV and Steve.
-
I like the way this thread almost just turned into an argument between the only two mk6-ers who have posted here

It just goes to prove your point from the beggining, there's only 3 MK6'ers posted here and two of them disagree with each other!
-
Er... I think you'll find you disagreed with me and he agreed with me
Oh no he's correct I'm just an arsey twit from the mk6 side, the sooner I locate a nice mk2 the better
Sunday mate, I'm really sorry about calling White golf 6's urinals it was a lash out after a certain other twit on the mo6 section having a go at mk6 GTD's - it was a deflection tactic that worked but now you think I'm a cun7.
Can we have a truce
-
Doc i dont think your a Cun7 at all, like i posted earlier you know your stuff and have plenty of experience with VW's and donating your time and rolling road for the Help For Hero's fund charity is superb!
Not many people would do that, take my hat off to you
-
I love you too

Everyones a Cunt
Roger that - I do miss the thicker skins over this side
-
to be fair, when the mk5 section was modded and all RELEVANT threads moved OUT of there to other section on the forum they all sucked, packed up and formed a MK5 forum
then happily all loads of diffeerent sections,
Mk6 owners, just like sensative mk3 owners but more debt

Theres sarcasm this threads funny
But so full of mis-information  So i will bite.
Stress of spending every penny you have to beat the neighbours, then realising that the paint on the bumper is slightly dappled, and no one bothered spraying your spare wheel well?
Every penny PMSL nope. I did expect them to spray certain parts yes, i sort of took it as a given that wing edges, underbody would be painted not just primed
Beating neighbours thats so funny, my neighbours they are hells angle type bikers that look like zz-top so my transport has too many wheels. My 02 daihatsu sh!tbox with a bent drivers door with duck tape on it is what sits on my drive
I bought the golf mk6 to keep it 10years+ (hopefully) and so i had expected things to be finished off better in certain areas yes. As they are on other makes, i assumed too much and as they say assumption is the mother of all f**kups... I thought what i assumed wrong should be brought to the attension of people maybe looking to buy a new mk6. I thought informing them of this information may be a good idea.
If your just using it as a company car or transport for a year or 2 on a lease and change cars regular fine but if your looking at long term ownership its an issue that people i thought needed to know. Just look at how many mk5's now have rusty wings or replaced wings at less than 5 years old because of it. I guess informing and helping people is not what a forums about
Another way of looking at this showoff to neighbours that often gets said about newish cars is how about taking a look at modding threads of old cars. Whos showing off and basically saying mines better then yours?
Or they amount of money they lose just taking delivery of the car!
Depends when it was bought  When i got mine and also ones from 09 Because of the goood discount level then, 3.5% price rises twice a year since plus other price rises due to bad exchange rates, short supply, the VAT rises you could get more than you paid for it
Mk6 owners, just like sensative mk3 owners but more debt
 Not all of us some of us have no dept
