Hi all,
I have joined up today after purchasing a silver '99 Golf GTI (the slow version 115bhp) I have joined mainly to use the classified section as I have plans already! Change of wheels - will 18"s go on OK? Fancy some shiny BBS wheels which seem to suit the Golf a lot... Upgrade the suspension - any recommendations of which kit to get (I don't want just springs) And as there is a crack in the front bumper, I thought I might stick an R32 front on?
Anyway here is a picture of my current weekend toy (she's asleep for the winter hence buying the Golf) sorry couldn't resist posting a picture of her

And here is the new daily drive

Thanks  How much could I lower the suspension with 18s? 40mm? I don't want it stupidly low, as it's a daily drive and has to be practical! I just can't seem to keep any of my cars stock!

Welcome to the site.
No they will not fit, 5x100 is what you need.
Ah of course! I'll keep looking!

Welcome! Both cars look nice. Bet the golf feels boring compared to the other beast.

Welcome! Both cars look nice. Bet the golf feels boring compared to the other beast.
Haha yes it does feel rather slow.. But I modified the RX7 from standard.. so who knows what I'll end up doing with the Golf  Although I don't suppose I can do a lot to the engine I have..

Thank you :) Never heard of Santa Monica's.. Googled them.. they look very dated tbh.

Hi and welcome.
Thanks! Starting to wish I bought a 1.8T instead... Might sell it and buy one lol What's the MPG like on the 1.8 T? My 2.0L GTI is getting only 30 - 35mpg according to the computer in the car is that right?
-
A remapped 1.8T is still good for 32-38mpg on a good run. In standard form they dont even feel like they have a turbo so need to be tuned.
Welcome to the site. M8 used to own a Rx7 and was tuned to 430bhp by dragon performance. Probs saw it at shows, had custom gold/cream flip with wide arch kit and monster install

i would say 40mm easy iv got mine with the arch's sittin just above the wheels but if you wanna go low you need to change the front arb as it rubs on the drive shaft.
-
Nice cars :afro:
My mate has a rx7 efini putting out 420bhp, he took me out in it the other day FOOK ME it's quick
