Car is currently dropping off and on revs when coming to a standstill at junctions/lights etc.
not sure if this is just down to the weather were having. Anyone have any idea's what may be at fault?
-
TB clean/fault? :undecided:
-
TB is fairly clean mate, no management light but ya never know with AGU's.
will see how it is, may just be down to the weather and car needing a good run

Could be the MAF or a boost leak :undecided:
-
Maf was new earlier in the year and was at R-tech just over a month ago and only leak found during the smoke test was repaired.
it'll just have to wait until weather is better so i can get somewhere to get it scanned.

Exatly what i had and after cleaing the MAF it was all good agine. Has the Golf stalled yet Paul?
-
nah not stalled yet mate, just revs between 200 - 1000rpm when coming to a standstill
-
you tried readapting the throttle body?
Mine was doing this after Nick had played with my map in the summer, was fine after I readapted it
-
Wez, do you mean just unbolt the TB and then bolt it back on and let it adapt itself
-
nah "the turn the key to put the dash lights on with the door open" trick
-
Air leak after the maf, maybe tip, brake check valve or PCV, or even naffed TB. Just unplugg the maf and see how see runs, you will have low generic load of only 5.5ms which is half the cars current performance but it should set the idle into a generic mod, and it it sorts this issues out its then its the maf or air leak.

I've got a GT TDi and mine when I first start up, after a few minutes of driving and when I come to a stop, mine always goes from 0.7/8 to 1.1/2 for a minute or so but then remains consistant once she warms up a litlle? Does it ease off or is it constant?
-
Nick, it doesnt seem to be a constant problem. will see how it goes over next few days.
Wez - is that all you do to re-align TB?
-
im gettin the same problem on my agu but once the car is warm its fine .. but if i go on a really long journey and im pulling up to stop the revs stick at like 1500 rpm ..then i jus rev it a little and it settles.. happens rarely tho :undecided:
-
could be wrong but i've heard of faults with the clutch switch, if its faulty it'll send incorrect values back from the sender telling the engine to idle.... this was on a passat though.
-
AGU doesn't have such things lol
-
Sorry... im an AUM man

Get some logs done dude, block 098.. i seem to remember your TB causing issues before, perhaps it's finally given up the ghost.
-
yeh was having problems before with the TB, think you reset it as it was only open 50% on full throttle.
I dont have Vagcom or a laptop. maybe santa will be nice to me.lol

i had the same problem on an A4 and it was the TB, id come to to a stop and the revs would be bouncing between 0 and 1
-
nah not stalled yet mate, just revs between 200 - 1000rpm when coming to a standstill
Mines started doing this but probably moreso between 500-900... I aint really driving enough for it to get fully up to temp at the mo, it's that cold that within 15 mins I'm home and it's only just hit 90 deg. Had a new thermostat last year.
-
Oh and re: AGU's not having a clutch pedal switch.. mine has one, it has cruise control, and ever since I snapped the clutch pedal the cruise control was tempremental then stopped working. Took switch out put it back in and it worked for an hour then died again lol.. maybe linked??
-
I dont have cruise control mate. but thanks for your help. will see how it goes and when warmer check the TB
-
I was being serious mate
-
Id 99% say TB sounds exactly like what was happening with the A4
