Post by: Gambit on 10 February 2005, 17:14

but the outer are manky. when i removed the bolts they showed the original shine of the outer rim! i want this shine back

how do i get it back - they aint laquered or anything just bog standard outers! that have just seen better days

lots of polish and elbow grease!!! i use autochrome on mine and a polishing bonnet on a drill. or if you took them to a local metal polisher (yellow pages) he'll probably do the lot for a few quid each. better result and less effort!!!

autosol is a good one for polishing but as said above, a pro job will look really good and should only cost around a tenner each.

^^^ yeah a tenner! was that sarcasm or delight? it'll probably cost that a rim but its still cheap. wheel re-furb places know what they're doing but they also charge alot! when i re-furbed mine i asked a few companies how much to powder coat the centres and caps and got qoutes of about ?60 a wheel. found a local powder coater who did them for a tenner a wheel and did them by next day. it pays to look around!
