hiii i'm new to looking after a golf, but how many miles can you do before a cambelt is due??
-
60k max. also get the water pump done at the same time...
-
i had mine done last week (had done 71k)
belt was knackered though so soon as imo
-
Any 1 got a picture of where the cambelt is so I can check it? My golf has done 77k but cant find evidence of cambelt being done only their word for it :(
-
vw specify 60,000mls or 4 years also as steve says have the waterpump replaced at the same time as having the cambelt changed

I see on eurocarparts that water pump is around £20 but how complicated it is to fit estimated time?
-
3-4 hours if you've done one before, all day if you havent
-
So going to cost a fair bit to replace?

yeah thats why people change it with the cambelt as you're only paying for the pump and labour once. To do them separately is not cost effective

Thanks will look into very soon then, think I still need my drop links or maybe bushes replaced first iv been told :undecided:
-
Great thanks alot for the info!!

Mine just got done at around 78K as I've only bought it recently. Whatever you do don't use Mr Clutch to do it, I did and I'm not impressed....
