Any good ?
My engine has had a complete rebuild although unsure if they cleaned everything I would guess not so I am def considering one of these.
Found this on Ebay, this cheap or ? Link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EGR-Valve-Delete-Power-Pipe-Golf-Audi-Seat-Skoda-Tdi-/170477591934?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b1419d7e#ht_1588wt_1165)
Sorry to hijack but can you just take the old EGR off and replace with this, anything else needed ?
;)

It removes the silly clip system by VW BUT you will have to modify the existing pipe by means of cutting out the metal connector
Another possible issue depending on the year of your car is that it will bring a light up on the dash but this seems to happen to 03 / 53 plate cars only
Another way is to simply pull the vacuum tube that goes to it and blank it but unless you clean the EGR out first you'll see little benefit at the diameter of the pipe is very restrictive
Think that's where I got mine from though in all honestly I think they are the same company as they are both based in Monmouth......
Or your final option is to buy my 'near as damn it' EGR which was fitted for approx 1 month before I bought the EGR delete

what metal pipe do you need modify rhys?

That pipe you're on about is the quickest way to get an EGR delete lol Just by removing it and plugging it will stop the EGR working but you're still left with the restrictive pipe
-
just understood that now, but i would rather have the delete  how long did yours take to arrive?

urm think it was about 2 weeks. I remember waiting longer than I was hoping for
Just don't do what I did and only blank off the flexi pipe - you'll end up in limp mode thinking your turbo has bit the dust :lipsrsealed:
Fit the blanking plate to the exhaust manifold as per the instructions - I ran out of time during my lunch break so fitted it to the flexi pipe which subsequently flexed and broke clean in two

Looks like a nice cheap and effective mod may give this a go ;)
