Can somebody tell me exactly what is included in;-
Lux pack?
Winter Pack?
Are these a standard set of items or can you add or take off items from each pack on initial order?
-
Lux Pack contains - folding mirrors and reverse activated kerb view adjustment on passenger side
Winter Pack contains - Headlight washers (pain in the arse), heated windscreen washer jets and low wash fluid warning light.
I cant remember if the heated seats came as standard on the GTI or with the winter pack, I think standard but not 100%.
FYI the smoking and convenience pack both came as standard on the GTI.

And also heated mirrors.

IN YOUR FACE ALAND!

Would have been better if you had corrected me though wouldn't it :D

Never had headlight washers. What's the "pain in the arse" issue BTW
-
The washers on the MK5 seem incapable of just washing your lights, they spray the whole of your bonnet. Now this might not sound like the end of the world, but try spending hours washing your car on a Sunday only for these poxy fecking jets to pop up and cover your bonnet in washing fluids that dries and leaves mark. Its a total pain, I mean how dirty can your lights get !? It totally ruins your bonnet.
They also run down the side as your move and leave trails of water all down the side of your car.
-
I think you worry far too much about the washer after washing your car, after all if you need to use your windscreen washers when driving then it must be dirt and rain, so the car's going to look bad regardless?

I don’t think the heated seats come as standard on a GTI, only on the ED30 and only on the standard GTI if you order the winter pack.
As for the lux pack, I have folding and heated wing mirrors, but the passenger side mirror doesn’t dip when I select reverse? I have the DSG gear box and rear parking sensors, so I don’t know if this affects anything? I did ask the dealer to fix this issue when the car went in for its DSG oil change, but when I came to collect it, the guy told me that it wasn’t possible on my car. I mentioned that I hade folding heated wing mirrors, and I thought that meant I had the lux pack, but he said I didn’t? So anyone got a clue as to why I have the folding heated wing mirrors but not the dipping passenger mirror when reversing?
-
Yes and no lol
You might have a point but im quite anal when it comes to these things :D

Cos you have (like me) version 1, version 2 with dipping mirror only came in on model year 07 cars I think.

Ahhhhh si si.

with regards to washer fluid on the bonnet, it only washes the lights when you have your lights on, or on automatic mode, therefore just turn the automatic lights off when you go to wash your screen,
thats unless your driving at night of course

Simple yet brilliant, will do that from now on, thanks for the tip!

Or just take the fuse out :D
-
is thier a seperate tank for the lights washers or could you put a clip on the feeder pipe or something and hey presto never again if it worked and didnt cauuse any damage!

Or as I said, the much safer / better way would be to take the fuse out.

Or if you want to live on the dangerous side!!!

Wouldn't taking out the fuse throw up an error code?

Is your wing mirror knob adjuster rotated so it is pointing to the letter L on the dial? It needs to be set that way for the dipping to occur.
-
Yeah it is always pointed to the L because I always have to manually dip the wing mirror when I am parking, because the reverse dip function doesn't work?
I Don't want to kurb the rims ha ha!
-
I don't have the Lux Pack but have L and R on my flimsy knob thing. Does it come like that as standard and just has to be activated? Because I have no dipping mirrors (which I wouldn't expect as I didn't spec it) but can still select L and R.
-
That L and R is just for you to be able to adjust the mirror angle manualy.

Thought it came standard on the ed30?
-
My mirrors are heated but don't seem to have any of the other items mentioned ?.Are the heated/electric mirrors not standard on the GTI ?.
-
Yes.

Nope. If it does mine don't work
