.... swaying towards slapping a new motor unit on plastic fantastic!  £82 from Euro.

Am I right in thinking new units have an updated pipe that doesn't corrode?

Dunno mate.

It's maybe been a bit down on spray pattern / pressure for a while and been meaning to prod the nozzle with a pin.  Used it on the way home tonight and afters noticed the rear screen was still mucky.  Fired it up again and the spray was following wiper and going all over the place, including inside of wiper cap!

Will take trim panel off tomoro after work and get a good look at it all*

*Note to self, remember to bring out the big guns

I have only removed my rear trim panel once.I didn't find it too bad. Unfortunately, sounds like one of the clips didn't go back in properly and I have an annoying rattle every time I use the boot

Think its time to put this right at the weekend. Its been a year now.....

Replaced wiper motor.  Tailgate panel was a beeeeeee-atch to get off!

Retrofitted a sheet of plastic to prevent any future damage to lock etc if the thing ever leaks or the hose pops off:

Looks a bit ghetto, the gaffer tape was to hold it up while I put the panel back on.  Cut three holes through it for the studs to fit it up under the motor and then bolted that down on top of it.

Motor on / motor off took all of 5 minutes, but I had to repair the coupling to the hose as it was brittle and cracked down the side.  All good now, once I wrestled the trim back on...

Copied you after seeing your post, simple and smart fix, but it was to late for my lock solenoids’ gone on it but don’t want lock getting worse till i change the hole lot, lock and wiper motor as the water comes from the connection in to the motors housing then ill get my mk5 wiper fitted.
