Its in the top of the black housing the coolant pipe from the radiator is going into. Just to the right of the dipstick.

I thought this was the ecu temp sender?
-
it does both, 4 pin unit.
-
just make sure you buy the correct colour...
-
What colour should it be,I have just replaced it and the new one was black 4pin is this right
the only reason I ask is I'm having big trouble with the car running at 110 degrees and have replaced everything I can think of now and it still won't run at 90 could it be the temp sender is the wrong one and giving a false Reading on the gauge as the car dosnt overheat it just gets to 110 then sits there even I in traffic.
-
ye the 2E engine needs the black and yellow one with 4 pins!

Hmmm its just black this one,it had a yellow cable tie round it when i got it out the packet but overall its just black,i got it from eurocarparts,i think i might get a thermometer and see what temp the water in the xpansion tank is when its running at 110 as this problem is really doing my head in now.

it should have a coloured ring where the connector plugs on....but I'm guessing the cable tie is ecp's version?
-
Yeh it was a coloured ring and it was yellow,so looks like its got the right sender then

ye u have the right one so it just the yellow plastic ring but the sensor is black the coloured ring is just to identify the different ones. is the gauge at 110 in both traffic and while driving??? did you change the thermostat???
