at moment i a mk3 owner 8v gti and looking to get tdi mk4 as commute is now a far distance.
1 got at most 2800 to play with and i know i should buy the best i can but pices vary on tdi's and no clue on what engine i can get on roughly what miles etc would like 3 door but they hold value untill i saw this,
i am looking at 3 door blck tdi 110 on v plate with 110k on clock as £1850 been told it not had cam belt done so that has to be done. . .when?and how much roughly
has no tax and he will put it through mot when it sold (sound dodgy?)
is there anything i should be looking for?
and is this not a bad price as i think it good????????
please need info sharp really cant afford to buy a junker as funds too tight at mo i cant stress that enough ha ha i no it hit or miss but at least if it checks out i only have the car to blame and not me.
cheers

should have been done 50K ago!!
Prices vary from £200 to upto £400 for a main dealer - get the water pump done at the same time too :afro:
Do a clutch test by putting it in 4th gear at 30mph and flooring the throttle - if the clutch is in good condition it should move off and accelerate fairly smoothly
Read the buying guide in the maintenance and info section - being a 3 door you need to ask if the window clips have been replaced; if not budget about £30 per side to get them fixed
Price isn't too bad tbh

The engine cover is that of a PD I think? Arm rest was standard in the 130, it has one. Its a TDi and not a GT TDi hence poverty spec lights and seats.

All MK4 1.9 TDI's are PD engines, the car in the link is not a GT TDI, the seats are the first tell tale signs before looking any deeper. And don't think the badges will dictate what model it is.
Badges on MK4's are all over the place and was up to the dealers what they put on them, hence why you might find a 130 with a red 'DI' and a 150 with the same. And also a 150 with sometimes red 'TDI' or even GTI badged on it.

90bhp and 110bhp engines were NOT PD engines :nerd:
The 130's were available towards the end of the Mk4's life cycle in SE trim

And the rub strips give it away. Saying that my work friend has a 1.8 20V-T not in a GTi spec. Black rubstrips, poverty lights and seats.
The 130 SE was aval. from 2003?
