Hi
weekend i've decided i'm going to do a few bits to my mk3 golf,
i've seen a few mk3's with the inside of the headlights painted black
and i want to give it a go this weekend because it looks better than standard i think
but i'm not all that sure how to go about it ! :undecided:
so if anybody who's done it or somebody who knows how its done properly
could give me a few pointers that would be tops
cheers

Okay start off by removing the bulbs, then putting the headlight in the oven for 2-5 mins depending on how quik the sealant sofens, then the sealant should be nice and soft allowing you to remove the glass from the housing, then you need to peel all of the excess sealant off, mask up the reflective parts of the headlight, MAKE SURE TO STICK THE MASKING TAPE ONTO A TEE-SHIRT A FEW TIMES FOR IT TO BE LESS STICKY,maskingtape will peel the reflective surface off if its too sticky, then spray the rest of the surface with some HIGH TEMP paint, couple of coats, i even did the plastic housing edge for extra effect , remove masking tape clean the glass part of the headlight while its apart, then reseal, fit bulbs, plug and play

cheers man thats helped a lot i'm new to the whole dubbing thing and i would never have thought to put them
in the oven lol
also this might seem like a stupid question but ...... what is high temp paint? and where can i get it?
-
oh and what do i reseal it with??? lol
-
you can get high temperacture paint from most motor stores, it will just be black spray paint thats resistant to higher temperactures, just use sealant with a gun, i used clear for mine, put plenty on and wipe excess off after you dont want your lights to get condesation
