Just wondering as you can on mine, it goes to the stop.....
Cheers.

No.
-
No !
Get it sorted out before you drive it any further.
Considering you don't know this I would get someone who knows what they're doing to sort it out, brakes are your only means of stopping unless you hit something.

no sounds like you need your brakes bleeding
-
I'll bleed 'em tomorrow. Stops OK but at a standstill you can push them to the floor. Didn't think it was quite right, was going to bleed them but thought I'd get an opinion first.
Cheers.
-
If you can push them to the floor or they are sinking to the floor then you need to bleed the system through or your master cylinder has had it.
-
OK thanks, I'll do all four bleed valves.
If the master cyllinder is really gone, is there any other sizes that could help the brakes?
Cheers.
-
and if its an early mk3 (280mm front brake) you'll have great fun with the rears!! oh and open the load valve fully if it is

'96 1.8. Vented discs.
Cheers.

I thought my brakes needed bleeding / master cylinder gone... but on closer inspection mine turned out to be a leaky servo pipe which had perished a bit and had a tiny split in it where it connects to the master cylinder, I got somone to keep pressing the brake pedal and i could faintly hear air escaping, once i replaced the pipe it was fine..
thought that may help!

I'm guesing its drums at the back? so I'm unsure if it has a load valve (on the rear axle) but bleed the whole lot and if it has the valve make sure it's fully open (don't jack it on the axle to open this fully)
-
If its drums, the shoes could be severely out of adjustment.
Or its probably the master cylinder as Wayne stated.

My old Cavalier had a brake pedal that would go to floor and it was the master cylinder.

It usually is the master cylinder seals that have failed.
If i remember right, the way to test it is, the brake pedal goes further to the floor the more you press it.
-
If it takes pressure to push the pedal to the floor it will be the master cylinder seal, if its spongy it will be air in the system, if it goes straight to the floor it will probably be something to do with the rear brake adjusters.
-
Ahh, feel a bit stupid now, it goes down quite far but not actually to the floor, the rear's need adjusting up as the handbrake is a bit weak.

I was right again

Right now, who's right on this one, me who says "Dark green" or Shady and his "dragon (which I thought were purple) green"?

+2 or Silver, don't see many white or silver and they always look good and it is a nice contrast with the arches etc.

Cause Shady said it was Dragon Green.
