But it was the last one they had left was in 5dr which i wanted, manual which i also wanted and cloth which was a must. So overall im quite chuffed . But for £239 per month over 2 yrs who the hell is complaining    got to be the bargain of the century

-

Nice one R32UK, what did you get exactly and what did you pay ?
p.s. You changing your nickname then ?
-
^^OOOOhhh that does look good!!
I paid £1434 deposit. Then 23 x £239pm + vat. The car is pretty much std. But i will be taking my RNS510 across and also changing the wheels, so pretty much as I would have spec'd anyway. Just missing the winter pack which would have been handy.
Just to give you some idea... when I went to my dealer and asked then to come up with a finance deal on a 5dr std gti, they wanted a £5k deposit with monthly payments of £447pm and would of had to do that over 3yrs.
Bit of a no brainer really! :nerd:
-
Mate these wheels look the nuts on this car and are extremely easy to clean (in comparison to the Interlagos on my scirocco).
Nice spec, very similar to mine in spec, funny I got the winter pack and didn't really want it! I'm sure i'll be happy in December though!
-
Its just because i got the 17" as std so will see how they drive first and if i still wanna change will look at the mozaII's or some thing along the OEM side. But overall im looking forward to a comfortable ride for a while anyway

Oh, i've seen the 17's on a car and they really don't do it as much justice as the 18's which i've got and think they just compliment the car immensely. With the black insides they look more aggressive and bigger than the mk5 wheels.
First thing I did when I collected the car was wash, wax and seal the wheels.

Definately a no brainer! Just out of interest (if you don't mind me asking) who did you do the deal with?
-
^ yeah it was with cap vehicle finance. They go through VW finance so in theory any dealership should be able to offer you the deal, as they also get the cars through a dealership.

Lovely in white mate!
You will have to burn off a CD of your car to play while you drive for when you miss the angry V6 noise

yeah think i might. havent driven one yet so not sure what the noise generator does... think i might have to book a test drive first.
-
When i went for a test drive I had the windows up all the time and couldnt really tell much difference in the noise. But they do say the mkvi has better sound proofing.
But when I was sitting in the show room putting in my order the same car went past and it did sound nice

Is that with you personally buying the car or your business?

leasing through business. personal is not far off that but has the vat included.
-
What happen's in 2 years time then? give it back and start again?

Sambo, is your mk4 sold mate??

hiya - i just checked out their site and they only have 3dr cars and starting at 288+VAT :(
you didn't make a typo by chance did you?! :p
whilst it was only a week ago, i'm worried that the switch into July has had an effect. VW had a good deal on their site for £259 pm (with £6.5k dep) on PCP, but your lease deal sounds a lot better!!
-
Prices went up this week. I know Honda have put £1000 onto all their CW FN2 cars. Bikes are going up £1000 new as well. Something to do with raw material costs.
Second hand residules are going well too. A guy on r32oc bought one new for £20k around christmas and just traded it in for an RS4 for £22k (yep a £2k profit!)

I was told that I got the last car they were offering.. which is why i didnt hesitate to take it. After looking at deals the dealers were offering I knew it was bargain.
After checking.. there are more deals on there now but like you said the price seems to have gone up. What I have found is that the deals only come along when a vehicle is new and they want them out there straight away so people see them on the road. Shortly afterwards the price seems to shoot up.
iirc the MK5 Gti was always around £349pm on a 3+35 deal. So expect the new GTi to be commanding the same kind of money when the current crop of deals have gone. So what your looking at now is still considerably cheaper than what they are worth. hth
-
Congrats
Another mark 6 gti on the road very soon!! Think there's going to be plenty of 59 plates running around.
-
I saw my first GTI (other than dealer) today in the work car-park. I felt a little bit gutted that mine wasn't the first, but on a brighter note for myself I am glad I didn't go for black again.

What's wrong with the black then? Mine will be in deep black pearl and I think it will be a little cracker!!

Nowt wrong with that, my scirocco was deep pearl and beautiful but bloody hell i've gone through some cleaning products in the last six months!
-
Just got a call from the finance guys.... my car is at the dealers!!!
Was just calling to ask if i want it now or wait til September :undecided: Thought it would be best to wait.. but dont like the thought of it sitting at a dealers for the next 4wks :embarassed:
-
you must be doing your nut - i would be very tempted to get it today if i were you! then get yourself any old personalised plate with 59 on it for 1st sep!!
-
Could you not "take delivery" with registration pending and then they send someone round to stick the plates on in September
Think of all the test drives it will be getting

You can't make a car seem newer than it is.
If you're keeping the car for 3 yrs the diff between 09 and 59 isn't worth waiting a month imho.
Bird in the hand
Carpe diem (sieze the day)
Strike while iron hot
And all that!
-
agreed, get it now! then post some pics!
-
Not too fussed about the 59plate tbh. Just dont have room for it at the moment... and whilst im still paying for the current car there is no reason to have the Gti :embarassed:
You do realise that dealers can reset the milage on any car back to zero... i.e after they have given it a few test runs
-
Just got a call from my dealer who has set off from Stoke with the car!!
faster faster dude!!
how far is stoke from leeds? :undecided:
-
Has it been PDI'ed? Could have a good day tomorrow if it has.
-
faster faster dude!!
He'll be screwing the arse out of it as we type
-

He'll be screwing the arse out of it as we type
Should be able to tell from the dash how fast he was going and his average speed.

He was a really old guy from what I gather and it took him 2hr 50mins to do 120miles so I dont think he was... but i certainly was once I got my hands on it!!
