hi boys and girls
i have decided to buy my suspension this month but cant decide on H&R Cup coilovers or H&R normal shocks and springs set up
i want about 40mm lower or maybe 40FR/60RR as my car sits nose up,
if i buy the coilovers i may go lower till i want to travel to england on holiday
i will by buying the matching rollbars too
but my question's are :-
are the shocks/spring set up ok ???
and does any one have any experience on the H&R cup coilovers ??
are they really harsh ?? if not i will buy these but i would like to be able to drive 600 to 700 KM's without having my spine broken !!!!
which would you chose ?? because if i buy them through work then the differance is about €100

I would go for a 60 / 40 H & R spring & shock set up, I had coilovers on my mk3 and the ride was shocking plus all the hassle of getting the car level.

well i have recently fitted some new springs and dampers with a 40/40 drop and the car sits perfectly level with a very comfortable ride. I also replaced the front and rear arb bushes and drop link bushes for polyeurethene ones and this improved the handling a great deal.

I disagree, you can't tarnish all makes of coilover with the same brush.
Yes, you will no doubt be happy with the shocks and springs set up.
But H&R and one of the best in the game so I'm sure you'd be more than happy with their coilovers.
Plus you have that extra height adjustability.
Decent coilovers set to a reasonable height are another step up from a good shock and spring set up.
Maybe if the choice was between the shocks and springs, and budget coilovers, I'd say different.
Even then I've been in mates' cars set up uber low on cheapy cheap coilovers and I didn't find them uncomfortable at all :afro:

I agree with MarkS. H&R are suposed to be one of the most comfortable sets of coilovers on the market. Infact I'M saving up for some my self.
-
well the H&R coilovers are €400 to work plus tax
so i think they are cheep enough to try

I think his suspension used to 'sag' a bit at the back, but that was due to age I believe
I'd go for the coilies!
You gotta link to the ones you have in mind?
