Thanks for all the positive replies

looks great

Why is it badged an R32?
Fair enough you want it to look like one but take off the badges, you will just embarrass yourself when anyone hears it! Its not like there are subtle differences between the two

thats a matter of opinion i think, i have an r32 replica and its not badged as one, i prefer to just confuse people and leave them wondering
what it is? If you badge it your trying to make it something that it isnt, which in my opinion does make u look silly.
But to be fair the fact that it has the full r32 interior , which i sooooo desperately want  means that i think u can get away badging
it is an r32 because it is a FULL replica, so why not badge it
Very nice motor, not too sure on the chavvy stickers on the side skirts, but very nice, and good price aswell!
-
oh and sorry julesv6, but if thats your motor in ur pic, shouldnt u be in the mk5 section

An R32 isnt an r32 because of its bodykit and interior, its the 3.2 V6 under the bonnet (the clue is in the name) so badging a 1.8T an R32 does not make it an R32
Theres nothing wrong in kiting it up, its a stunning car the mk4 R32 but badging it one is silly.
and no i shouldnt be in the mk5 gti section as i have an R32, technically shouldnt be on the forum, but seeing as there are owners of all golfs, audis, seats etc etc on here i cant see the harm. I just have a look in what ever has been recently posted on the home page

Welcome, very nice car.
-
Well as i have had the car 1 day i know there are many things that i need to do, i agree i dont like the stickers on the side.
As far as the r32 badges, i would say the car has everything an r32 has apart from the terrible r32 engine (personal opinion). But if i should remove the badges, should i remove the kit, the interior etc etc because its not a r32.
How many people actually know that a r32 is not turbocharged, most idiots dont even know there is a r32 but i am taking the badges off anyway but not because i would be embarassed just i like a debadged car
The car runs 280 hp and put most cars into the weeds so why be embarassed
I like honesty  thank you
-
Would love to see proof of this 280bhp, most mk4 gti's dont even make 220bhp (unless on unreliable rollers)
You also dont have the 4wd haldex system to help with that power, i have still yet to see an r32 scrabble when launching, well apart from eathis's R32 engined 4motion with haldex controller

Would like to see you do that with your fwd turbo engine
Didnt realise you had just bought it though so plenty of time to debadge
-
Depends on what has been done to the mk4to get the 280 but i agree with getting the power down can be a bit tricky in the wet lol.
The car has had substantial work, tt injectors, 4bar fpr, k04 (running max) head work, full r32 milltek, 100 cel cat and a partridge in a pear tree.
I was given a ton of reciepts to prove all the work but i think the turbo is struggling a bit so gonna do the gt28 conversion. I know they create a bit of lag and some people hat by them but really, how many people get to race from a standing start, rolling power is what i need
Hopefully i can attend some meets and show and look at other members cars for inspiration and show the work done to mine
Empty wallet syndrome

That turbo sounds like a nice choice mate, al you need to do is sort the noise out and people wont be questioning if its an R32 with that power! Car looks stunning mate, i have no issue with people putting an R32 body kit on as its by far the best looking golf ever (nicer than the my R32) its just the badge insinuates that it has a 3.2 V6, the heart of the R32; which it doesnt.
Just seen you have an R32 miltek!
Get some vids up mate, will be interesting to hear and see it!

i dont think that is very accurate as most people who own a 1.8t will agree! with a ko3s or a ko4 upgrade with the right upgrades to
go along with it, you will easily get over 250bhp out of the golf, and as far as being embarassed about the fact that it doesn't sound like
a v6, i would be more embarassed that mine didnt have a nice dump of turbo inbetween gear changes
