Title: Box in centre console????????????

Hi peeps,

Today i took my centre console apart and there is a small box looks like a small ecu or big relay for something, its stamped VW Audi groups and its VDO with the number 244 on it any ideas what its for????

Its either for the ISV or electric wiindows me thinks. Just dont unplug it!!  :smiley:

cool its a 1988 16v if that helps, my mate has a 1990 8v with electric windows and he doesn't have one thats all!!! or if he does its well hidden!

The ISV is part of the engine, not the interior ;) The leccy windows don't have a control unit, its a simple loom with a relay in it, which runs direct off the fusebox.

Look for the part number on the product and our resident Etka man can look it up for you ;)

Yeah not alot bigger than a 20 deck!!

Please please can you take a picture of that area. I have been trying to locate this item for a very long time. It is the ISV control unit.

Please please can you take a picture of that area. I have been trying to locate this item for a very long time. It is the ISV control unit.


Cant at the min matey cos my bro has my car currently but i can try to explain:

If you take the gear stick surround out and pull it towards you inbetween the electric window switches there is a kind of "shelf" it should be located in there but its not fixed so should pull straight out
