Thats a real pisser! (Sorry! :embarassed:) But just glad the rest of the car didn't go up and take you with it! I think I will invest in a fire extinguisher when I get home!

I heard it was the motor that was the FAIL candidate.....

on much closer examination  the motor has launched a rod out the back side of the block.  from number 4 cyl  right inline with the exhaust and also right by the transfer case hence makeing it look like oil was pissing from that,  also been semi paranoid about transfer case fail  dosen't help.

the question i'm asking myself is  WTF  was glowing down there,   i know the exhaust glows very well under the heat wrap but din't look like that at the time.  anyway  will know much more tomorrow, Tools are back at home and car is in garage  so few hours in morning and engine and box will be out,   tempted to fit spare gearbox anyway.

melted loom and throttel cabel,   fortunatly only minor damage

that piston looks slightly mispalced

the head seems to have survived  but would need 2 new valves to use it again,  so will be doing that and use it as a spare or chop in for porting or something at some point
