Golf mk8 / Deep Black Pearl & Estorils - show me yours!
« Last post by BanksyGTI on Today at 12:08 »
Hello all,

I’m looking to order a GTI Clubsport soon, I think in Deep Black Pearl.

Has anybody got pictures of, or own a black CS on diamond cut Estorils (my preferred wheel) please?

I just want to make sure that I’m making the right decision!

Regards,
Tom

I'd be keeping the Clubsport S and PX'ing the Performance Pack

It definitely looked the part when it was done. I think part of me was terrified of damaging the coating

If I was in your position (sounds like a great place to be!) I would keep the S as it has the best chance of near depreciation free ownership. Plus what a great second car to have! As for the PP/E45 - with all the current issues I probably wouldn't go for the 45 right now, I don't think you're gaining much over the CS so I'd either wait for the issues to be sorted and get a well specced CS or see if there is something special in an E50!

Personally no, I think the Edition 45 will likely hold its value well compared to a run of the mill CS due to their low numbers but its not as special in my opinion as a Clubsport S.

Don't get me wrong i think the new Golf is special but yours is specialer!!!!

I moved from a PP to a Clubsport that would be my option if I was you rather than sell the CS S I think you'd regret that

Looking some opinions
I Currently have an Edition 45 on order
If you owned a Clubsport S would you sell to buy an Edition 45 ?
Im in two minds to sell my S which I have owned from new and replace it with the Edition 45 or the other option is to sell my wife’s GTI PP and she can then use the Edition

Any thoughts appreciated

Intake intercooler rad or air-con rad??

Intercooler rad with a hole tends to make a whistling noise whilst accelerating.

Air-con rad with a hole in loses all the refrigerant and hence no cold air.

Thanks. Intake intercooler.

Holes could be pinhead size and the gas escape.

Is the aircon still working? Stick it on max and does it blow icy cold still?

My last Mk7.5 had a holed condensor just before I traded it in. Aircon had totally stopped working.

Its an expensive part to replace, luckily the dealer didn't notice

AC working fine.

This is a month old new MK8 CS, so shows the increased likelihood of damage given the very exposed intercooler as a result of the open honeycomb grill.

Nothing to worry about really, its the thicker horizontal tubes which carry the intake air, the fins are there to conduct the heat within those pipes away.

You could use something, not sharp or pointed, to tease the fins back into the normal position if you wanted.

This is an intercooler off a Transporter which has split the actual intake air carrying tube.

Perfect, thank you
