Rather than start a new thread I thought I would just ask here instead.

With the DSG gearbox is it supposed to learn the way you drive? The reason I ask is because I drove about 100 miles in a DSG Tiguan today and whilst driving on an open road it was fine but on A twisty roads it was in the right gear about 20% of the time. I had it in normal mode btw.

When I got my car changing gear seemed to be all over the place, now however (4000 miles later) I haven’t noticed it anymore, so either I’m used to it or it’s used to me

^^ If you’re talking about just LED bulbs and not replacement light units, these are the blue ones that fit as above. So just seek out the red version.

Or just pry the metal bits inside the light unit apart a bit to accomodate the slightly bigger one if you can.

I have lost interest in changing the footwell LEDs to red for now. I have returned the units that worked but didn't fit into the housing. I just cannot be bothered to switch out the bulbs as I do not want to risk breaking the OEM unit, so unless I can buy the unit with the red LEDs in like the blue ones, I am done!

Know exactly what you mean - feels like the gearbox is just doing it's own thing. It does take a while and I think it's part 'box adapting to your driving style and part you learning to make it do what you want it to. Eventually, you can pretty much control it, in "D", just using the throttle. Sport mode or the paddles are always there, in reserve!

Well after having the car for 3 days it got a bit better, as said you can make the car do what you want by modulating the throttle. It is a rather steep learning curve though.

Have you got the Tiggy then or just persuaded someone to let you have a long old test?

Imo, it takes about a good month to 6 weeks to get to grips with DSG if you are totally new to it, and a lot of it is throttle control, feathering it and also getting the most out of engine braking.

Yeah you're right. Pedal box makes it much better as well.

Given up on getting cf mirror caps so decided to get the common back ones  Wanted to wash the car before fitting but at the rate I'm going it'll be spring before that happens. Gave them a couple of coats of wax before fitting and I'm very pleased with them

I preferred the black and red carbon ones

Joking, they will look good with the other black bits on the car.
