Might be worth looking at getting some p clips for the loom and fixing it back to the sill

Ok so a little update

Got a few bits and bobs done over the last couple of days.

Got the headlining out and removed the board on the roof at the front...which was loads of effort and was as light as a feather so I left the back one in
Sadly I didn't get any pictures but its only simple stuff.
I also repaired all the little tears in the seats I bought. only planning on keeping them for a short while to start with before upgrading but didn't want them to get any worse.

Today I set about getting the dash back in and removing all the crap out of the car that wasn't needed!

Got it all bolted back in fine and lost a few bits I didn't need like the trim above the drivers feet.

How the car was looking at dinner time today...

Then I spent the afternoon cleaning up the cage including any surface rust and then applied a coat of primer just to protect it...(sorry for the dodgy photos  :undecided:)

I also painted the sleeves that join the cage together to test the red paint I bought...

Now I don't know what's happened with these pictures put they look orange but they aren't!
They are actually bright red! will get better photos tomorrow!

Then spent the rest of the afternoon getting the cage into the car!
Its in! ish
Sort of in the right place but gonna join it all up tomorrow and get it sitting perfect!

Get some harness bars welded in that rear section before you go much further!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

Ok so put a lot of hours in today but didn't seem to get very far!
But i know it's a awkward process and i was on my own for 80% of the day so not letting it get me down.

Started by taking advice from prawn by cutting off the tabs on the main hoop before going any further as they are for if you have a 5 door model and are plaing in the way on a 3 door.
Before..

During...

After...

Not the best job but you see it anyway because of the b pillar

I then set about getting the 2 parts of the cage together which was a PITA!

Because there is a little play when the sleeves are and before you tighten them on to allow fitment it was really awkward on my tod

I eventually got it all together and set about trying to get it in the right position!
Tried using bricks ...

but it was really hard work with alot of pulling, pushing and sliding about but i finally got it in a place which i think is suitable!

Front foot (is actually very slightly different now but kept forgetting to take photos as i was in concentration mode haha)

rear foot

Front drivers side foot...

you can see on the drivers side how it does fit over the sill and this is because it comes into contact with the door so im thinking about ripping the door cards out and making some!

Didn't get any photos but i got it where i wanted it and got the two arch feet secured into place so i can now start fabricating the feet for the front and mid feet

This is how i left it at the end of the day!
