MFA MPG problem
« on: 23 June 2003, 14:24 »
I have a Mk2 8v 1989 - the MFA reads 99.9 on mpg all the time. I have checked for leaks and all OK.
Does anyone know where the speed sensor is located?

Thanks,
Sounds like a vacumn sensor fault as the average speed indication works fine.

Great site by the way - V useful

Hi, i think you need to take the clock out and see if the vacuum pipe that connects to the clock has come off or not if its come off thats your problem just put it back and should work fine.

I reconnected it, but it still says 99.9. Do I have to disconnect the battery and reset the whole thing?

you can reset the mpg but holding the slider on the wiper stalk over to either side for a couple of seconds.  Should go back to: --- then bring up a reading as you start driving
