right car is all back together now the head was slightly out been using it for a couple of days just to work and back but just checked the oil and there was abit of creamy stuff on the dipstick? whats happened now?

did you change the oil whist doing the head ???

if so hopefully just some sludge working loose

if not WHY NOT  :grin: :grin:

change it and re-check

i would change it again :)

i work for landrover and after changing 1.8 k-series head gasket's we some times have to change the oil 2-3 times to remove the sludge

that saying though it is usual to remove the sump plug and fill the header tank of the water system to see it coming out of the sump plug hole as fast is you pour it in  :huh: :huh: :huh:
