Just bare in mind that the cills crumple VERY easily, that jack is known as the 'widow maker' by specialist garages, surely a mater has a jack you can borrow? :huh:

At the very least you can't jack anywhere other than the chassis mounts, I strongly advise you steer clear of the cills & definately definately not the middle!!! :shocked:

I never jack mine on the sills, I jack mine where the front / rear susp. mounts to the body.

I've decided against it  :grin: :grin:

Went to go and do it but the jack slipped and almost nearly f**ked up the bottom of the car, so instead I'm opting to bare with a wank tyre for now, until further notice lol!

seriously, they are such an investment if you work on your car, especially when you can get a halfords one, that comes in a carry case (yep, thats awesome), and is around £20

im probs gunna get another soon, mmmmmm aldi/lidl's.......

yep my d/s front jacking point is nackered, jacked the car up with the widow maker an the sill just bent back an the jack nearly went throught the floor, last time i'm gonna do that, will just have to waxoyl the whole lot an hope for the best.  :grin:

i always use a piece of wood when jacking the car, even with a trolley jack. also as mentioned try axle stands as well.
