also, you'll notice that in the Gti you'll be able to go round corners at proper speeds instead of tootling round in the punto

my budget is a max of 2.5k. Im not sure if i wanna modify another car as I have modified every car I have ever owned. In my youth I spent 15k on a 1.1 Punto. Max power style  ::)

Wouldnt do it again

All I want is a nice low GTi with 17'' BBS and a magnex zaust

I may tune the engine but I dont want to tune it and for it to effect the reliability of the car

well for 2.5k you can pick up a clean late 16v for about 1.5k if you look hard enough (dont just jump at the 1st one you see)

as for wheels, 17's will need arch rolling done

and stay away from Magnex where golf's are concerned. Magnex recirculate the gases in order to quieten down the system and therefore the system is more restrictive than the OE item (there is a post of mine on here where i have email correspondance from magnex confirming this)

lucky boy!

very nice to have a budget of 2.5k. ;)

for that money you need to be looking at MINT G,H and j reg 16valvers.

www.mateymatey.co.uk,

this in my opnion is the best buyers guide for mk2 gti's.
personally id spend 1.5k on the car and then spend a further 1k modifying it.

17s may ruin the handling as well?
im a bit biased any way i love bbs alloys.

have you seen the bbs alloys on gavg60's ride?

f**kin awesome :D

na I havnt seen anyones cars on this forum.

Yeah I have 2.5k but dont wanna spend it all. Gonna take my time and get the right car for me  8)

I thought 17's might have went straight onto a golf?

Guess I will just stick with 16's then and slam it. Love low looking Golf's

Didnt know that about the magnex exhaust, that it was more restrictive. Guess I will have a shop around to see what other system there is.

Im not sure if I wanna spend loads modifyin the car as I like my Golf's quite standard  ;)
