8v 1600 to 8v 1800 is a very easy swap. the webber 32/34 dmtl is perfect for it as long as it's in good condition. with dizzy from a k jet and, certan things in the inlet manifold adjusted it will make more power than a standard gti enigne. and works very well and is generaly very reliable tho any problem that occur will normaly be carb related.
digifant 2 will make the enigne easyer to live with, once it's setup it should allways idel nicely the webebr tend to creep out on the idel speed tho it's quickly put back to something sensible. but digi 2 is quite limuted and needs tweeks on anything other than a stock motor to get the best out of it. on 2ltrs the webber works ok but it's not ideal. on a hot 2.0 the manifold itself starts to become an issue as well as the carb, thats asking it to do over 150% of what it was desinged to do
