Advice wanted on buying a GTI-T
« on: 23 May 2004, 18:23 »
HI,
I'm looking at buying a GTI Turbo, Is there anything to look out for? Will have a max of 10K, but looking to spend a little less! Hoping to find a 3dr in Black or Silver with A/C. Also, whats the leather interior like? Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Im sure that as long as you do the usual checks as with any new car accident damage, regular service, clean, personally i look a lot at who im buying it off of, nice area, keen driver, genuin reason etc. An for ?10000 you shold get a good one with low mileage!!Listen for smooth acceleration,  put your foot down in first an second an make quick gear changes, an listen out for any hissin, or spinning noises, that'l be the diverter valve, ?100 to sort. Make sure turn off air con radio etc, an listen carefully. Oh an arrive early so the seller doesnt prepare with a run round the block to warm it up, u wanna get it on a cold start!! Hopefully that'l get u started there's plenty more experiance on here when it comes to the dubs!! 8) good luck 8)

Its all better now very shiny, but now the windows have gone again! and shocks are squeaking like mice!!aarrgghhh
