Was it an import or a UK model?

The reason I am asking is that there was some controversy over VW's being left at ports for up to 18 months (salt + water = not good!) and then being sold on as newly registered cars via import into the UK!

not a import m8. had to wait 12 weeks for it thou to get built. got from local vw stealers with no discount tw*ts ehh.

Not good that then

I've NEVER seen rust as bad as that on a 2 year old UK VW before

lol, ive looked aswell, i have a small sign, smaller then a 5 pence coil on the rear seal nxt to the scuttle trim, that i soon touched up with touch

up when i bought mine.

no didnt let it, soon touched it up with the stick, but whether that was caused by a mis-aligned door??

does the door line up correctly, may have dropped slightly!

so paint had been rubbed away by the rubbers you think ?

yes, but not sure whether it was caused by a solvent drip, doesnt look like any scraping taking place, ill take a pic tommorow in the sunlight.

Accident damage.

The original door might be in a skip somewhere.  I suspect it was bent forward by some delivery twerp reversing with the door open, hitting another car and damaging the door pillar.  Your garage or VW UK may have straightened and repainted the pillar and replaced the door.
