Slight Light Bulb Change
« on: 10 October 2008, 09:17 »
Hey Guys,

The drivers side, side light bulb has gone and i guess i'm left with no choice but to drop the front bumper.

I found this guide : http://home.nycap.rr.com/brandonc/headlight/

Anyone with any tips to aid me?

Thanks,

CS

that guide is spot on

one tip is to turn the wheels to full lock to help you get at the wheel arch screws

also you don't need to undo the bonnet release - you can leave the grill loose and hanging off it

other than that just take it slow

You shouldnt need to remove the bumper. I've done side lights headlights and indicators without removing the bumper.

I did think this. Seriously though it is quite easy. You can look through the light to see what you doing and just bend your hand around.

I did the passenger side ok because you could remove the battery ... no harm in trying without dropping the bumper first i guess :)

Just hope it dont rain in the morning!

I got bloody aftermarket angel eyes with covers on, i have to remove my front bumper even if i want to look at my bulbs lol.  you can do side lights without removing it, it can hurt but it saves a lot of messing around, also when you put the bumper back on it really takes two people to keep it level as it slides in from the front, i found out the hard way and took it off, had to ring a mate to get it back on lol!!
