I always thought this was an American GTI thing, but may be wrong. Anyway, i liked the look of it, and tried it with pinstripe (as kharekatoh) said. Here's a pic, i did have two, but one seems to have corrupted, if anyone knows why, let me know? Thanks.

That actually sucks!  why make a feature out of something that looks better subtle, It looks more like a cheap trick that Peugeot or Rover would have gone for in the 80s
Just my opinion

I did like it on the dash, and thought i'd try it on the Vent arrows as well (i didnt ever notice them until i did this!). I have since taken it off again (the advantage of pin stripe sticker over paint!). I have it chrome again, and i really cant decide which i like most, chrome or red! I think if i painted it a better red, a bit deeper, and left the heater vents, it would probably look OK...

I have just done mine!!! Im preety sure on american valvers it was acctually standard??? I was gonna buy the trim and fit it upside down? However a quick trip to the motor factors and I got the tape for £2.59!! However I got the widrer one which im gonna have to trim down... And get a heat gun on the corners.... It looks ok and does brighten up the interior I contiued it on the doors it looks better from out side but should look good when its all trimmed up proprerly!!

Well obviously not the heater vents.

im just talking about the chrome stripe on the dash and the stripe on the door cards.

Ive since found out that as some of you have suggested it is actually an american spec thing, so with this in mind i might try it.

here a link to an american trimed car

Gotta be a US-spec car - check out the air-con controls.
