I have a complete magnex system on the mk1 GTI i don't find it loud unlike most other makes for that car are/were, but i have no idea how loud a mk5 one would be. I have had no problems at all with it for more years than i can remember now.

I had one on my old Golf VR6, superb quality and sounded great when needed. It was quiet at 80, which was fine for motorway cruising.

I do remember reading something a while ago about the Magnex zorst being very loud on the MK5 GTI and a guy who bought one taking it back and swopping it for a Milltek  :undecided:

Yeah, sounded a bit too loud for me in that clip - I just don't think a loud exhaust suits the character of the MK5.

parent company supplied OEM stuff to Aston Martin!!!

shame to see them go down tho. Micron cans were very popular on the 2 wheel side of things.

Has anyone taken over the remnants of Micron/Magnex, or have they just vanished into the "ether".  Don't know what will happen with the "lifetime warranty" for the Micron carbon race can on my CBR?

it was me that had one fitted to my MK5 GTi

had to take it back and the place that supplied it to me changed it without a quibble mainly because they too were very surprised how loud it was

as soon as the car went over 2k revs everbody at the side of the road would almost break their necks in a WTF moment, was funny for about 2 minutes then I knew I had to get it off

the Milteks were on back order and had to wait 2 weeks for one, hardly drove the car until I got it changed

looked a good quality system but sounded like a chaved up corsa
