Just bought a mk2 VR6 !!!

Hi everyone.

I bought a mint mk2 VR6 yesterday

Few things id like to ask, its running lumpy on idle. apart from maybe a vacum leak or a sensor issue is there anything else to look for as im not to familiar with the vr6 (more of a ford4pot turbo man usualy)

second the car is pretty much perfect, although there are a few changes id like to make, its missing the rear gti 16v badge, is there anyone who sells these new?

ive also noticed on some gti mag spreads on the interior the chrome stripe which runs the dash and into the door cards, is sometimes red. I think this looks really smart, but im not sure if this is a custom thing or a factory thing. as id like to do it but im trying to make the car as O.E as possible, well except for the obvious bit unfer the bonnet

Theres loads of things id like to know to get more familiar with the mk2, but im not picking the car up for a few days, and was so excited i cant rmember all the things i wanted to ask

I dont want to post any pics, as i feel the car is not officially mine untill its on my driveway. but i will do as soon as its home.

I always type in "volkswagen golf mk2" and refine the search on the tool bar on the left hand side...

in this case "exterior signs and decals".

Not much on there at the moment but keep your mince pies peeled and a few crop up on a weekly basis

work it out, two valves per cylinder, 6 cylinders...

yeh only 12. had an argument with my mate about this. he thought mk3 vr6's were 24v. thats mk4's

try ebay from brand new badges from a seller in Spain.

Parp - there were VR6 24v's made and put into the mk3s. They are the 190bhp version iirc.

Oh and how can a mk2 16v be 2 valves per cylinder. Bloody know it all mk2 owners.
