is there such a thing as a 1.8 vw engine that's not fuel injected? wondering what the seller means by 1800 conversion...

yep, the scirocco had a 1.8 carbed lump, as did the Golf GL (certainly later models).  to the best of my knowledge its indentical to the GTI, minus injection.
