Has anyone ever made there own stealth sub box?

Right, I want a sub in the boot but need all the space so don't want a normal sized box taking up the room...

Looked into the stealth type that fit uner the shelf fixings.. turns out they are not cheap!

So got me thinking of weather I could build one, being fairly handy with stuff like that.

I was thinking of lining the area and then fibre glassing the shape to make the rear of the box then a simple MDF front or something along those lines!?
any thoughts? and are they any good.

I was thinking the same thing as I need the space for a double pushchair, I decided to stick with a sub in a normal box and make it easy to take out when I have the kids in the car as I don't use it with them in.

yeah that was my other option, to make a plug in type box?

the main reason is that my dog goes in the boot sometimes.

not only are the stealth ones not cheap but mine fits terrible too! build one!

I made one of the stealth type in my mkII in the near-side rear quarter.  Fits perfectly and sounds good.  It is important to get the internal volume right for the sub your going to use.  Make sure you factor in the size of the sub basket into your overall volume so its not too small.

Best piece of advice I can give is mask up everywhere as the FG resin drips in places you wouldnt think.  I now have a run/blob on the bumper near the back wheel

I would so love to do this, but it looks a lot of hard work, and for someone who doesn't like gettin there hands dirty there is a lot of room to fook up!!!!! lol.

How much bass are you wanting to kick out?

You might want to consider an all in one sub/amp that fits under your passenger seat?

Yeah I have looked at them before to go into my MK1 Caddy but wasn't sure if they were any good or not and didn't want to spend out the money on one.

If anyone does have one then it would be good to know, that would slove the issues in both of my cars! I could get one under both seats?
