Sebrings are heavy too TBH - the 5 spoke SEAT rims I have on at the moment deleted the lead-footed-ness my car had previously - it is astonishingly transformed.

Quite seriously - find out wheel weights and make a choice with some of that information behind you.  1kg off the unsprung weight is the same as 7kg off the car - you'll really notice it.

Bummer that you're on 4X100 - narrows your choice a bit in the sizes you're looking for.  Swapping to 5X100 hubs might well be a good call - much wider choice in 16"...... that said, you may find there's some nice 16" linear spoke SEAT rims out there - from the ABF cars.

The Scirocco looks like it's on stilts alongside your car, Nick.  Now you've got a car that handles you coming out to Germany in 09?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

16s are ghey, there's no point in that much rotational mass unless you have pointlessly huge brakes. i've got a set of 14s in my garage to try compared to the 15s, but would like to weight them first, and see if i can get some tarmac part worns or the like. obviously if i get 280mm stoppers they won't be an option any more.

and finally, you can't put seat rims on an oak green valver   i was looking for your wheel weight thread you started earlier but seems lost amidst a mass of spam.

Depends on the weight of the wheel, doesn't it?

195/50 R15 does seem to be THE size competition-wise - good tyres, cheap.

a 16" wheel the same weight as a 15" wheel will have more rotational mass because the majority of the weight is distributed around the rim.

Interesting stuff guys and something to keep in mind while wheel shopping next year.

DH, I would love a trip to the Ring next year and all being well I'll be in touch in the new year to sort dates and book time off work!

You reckon? I'm not sure it looks better, but it doesn't look bad next to it. Well apart from the fact it makes the Rado all of a sudden look very dated.
