Drag Strip At Inters....
« on: 09 May 2004, 21:08 »
Went for a play on the Strip at Inters today. Up against a friends Bora. Was pleased with my efforts but thought it could go quicker. Managed a 0-60 time in 7.07 seconds which, for a Diesel ain't half bad. That was with shed loads of unnecessary wheelspin off the line  Think it could go mid to late 6's if I got it right. Will have another go at GTI Festival.

What about that short wheel base UR Quattro :o

0-60 in 2.5 seconds
1/4 mile 10 seconds

Even the twin engined V-dubs couldn't beat that :o

That quattro .... god I really hope someone managed to get a video clip of it as it was the fastest thing on 4 wheels I've ever seen! Seen a far few things at places like Goodwood, but they never really give it any ...

Anyone see the Dubsport Mk3 vs R32 twin turbo? Both did 3.05 second 0-60 times and on road tyres from what I could see ... very impressive !!

Then on saturday there where the Red and the Gold Audi 'sleepers' both setting times in the 4's and 5's.

Shame it was damp or the times might have been even quicker !

Ok heres my experince, I had never been down the strip before, every year I say I'll do it and never get round to it, I got my ticket sat in the cue had a few nasty coments made like "look a girl, she's going to show you how to go slow" well that made me more determend to do it.
I did my first run and wondered why I was so worryed about doing it  ;D there is no stopping me now, 5 runs later my times where
0-60 5.75 and 1/4 mile 14.33

So who still says girls go slow? not all of them  :D
I am coming to GTI festi now want to get my time done to 5.3 ;)
