What, you mean me having a "play" with the new M3 ?   I have, but I was very low on gas at the time - the M3 was slower than mine, and it certainly didn't handle as well as mine - a very twitchy rear end - welcome to the hedgerow!

Huh - I'm sorry, but I just don't agree.  Every modern BMW that I have ever driven has flawed driving dynamics!

more specifically, please

Hmmm - sadly not it would seem.  The GTI is actually SWMBOs, and she's given strict orders not to post pics of hers - but there was one from someone elses photobucket album of hers at last years Inters - sadly I seem to have lost it.

Your kidding, right? Seriously

TT, I'm guessing you'd like this thread of a well detailed RS4, my fav car ever.

BMW have been playing "catch up" ever since the V8 was unrolled. Didn't the old M3 used to be a straight 6..... I wonder what it is now... :smug:

Most articles ever written about BMW since 2000 all state the following...

BMW has moved away from driveability. The Z4 M version. Was a hoot to drive but when you switched the computers off it was impossible.

The M6 was the same apparently. Even the M5 is a drift queen with no ESP on.

So how can it be a drivers car when the only thing keeping you on the road is the computers? You cant argue that Bmw is a pure drivers car anymore.

Most high powered rwd cars will be drift cars with the computers off, driver skill is very important with cars like the m5/m6 when there are no nannying computers spoiling the fun. They can be controlled if driven properly

Luca-

Im not reffering to you in any way. But lets be realistic. How many M5 drivers actually have the driver skills to cotrol that car without twenty five million computers kicking in first?

The M coupe is quoted as the worst car ever and apparently the M3 shares a lot in common with regards to design.

If you want a proper car that is not run by twenty five million computers buy a simple car. A lotus Elise (dont quote me- but has very little computers) but a BMW.

BMW put computer control on the map... Then they ruined it with Idrive

Never thought your comments were aimed at me. Im just saying in M mode the M5 can be a cracking car around the track in the right hands. Must be good as its the nurburgring taxi. Doubt sabine has the Traction control on when she does taxi rides

I agree with you on the lotus elise or exige, they are more driver focused cars but again they are very easy to unsettle aswell.
