how about paintstripper and polish! not done it myself (yet!) , i know not all types of ally comes up good but if you painting them anyway, try a little bit c how you get on ??  any one know if standard gti wheels can polish up??

i thought about doing this, got a second set of gti alloys coming, dunno yet if im gonna do it tho

do it man! how hard can it really be! get a cheap polishing kit off t bay n some nitromors and your off ! the gti rims would be quite good to do as they quite flat ! if you mess it up no biggie! just repaint it!

lol sh!t, sorry about that, but i have always said, i think your car is the only one i have seen that pulls of the crystal light thing...i dont know why it works on yours but it does, and i really aint a fan of them as you well know, but i dont think anything else would work for you like the set up your running, so all is good, genuinly mean that, you know me by now i just say it how it is
