you really should take it back to Verve until they fix it

they are not all muppets there, one of their techs does remaps on the side

if its under warranty i wouldn't worry too much, just need to be patient

Sorry to hear of your probs mate, I am in Glasgow too, however cant say I recommend going to AC at Jordanhill either, they haven't exactly shrouded themselves in glory either.

Run Super Unleaded.?...dont drive with less than a quarter tank..?.!! what kind of Pish talk is that? We all know about v-power and tescos finest! and these days my tank is rarely anywhere above a quarter!

My bets are on some kind of sensor doo dah not doing its job properly. Search this and other forums for the lamda sensor thingy...

There is always a local independent specialist such as a4audi, but I guess that would cost you....Brian is right best bet is to take the car to verve and try your best to be paitent.  Keep us all updated mate, especially if the AA dude does more than offers you a tow to Dalmarnock Road.  Hopefully TeutonicTamer will read and offer some of his words of wisdom.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

Cheers guys!

Quick update - Got the car taken to Arnold Clark on Kilmarnock Road. I waited an hour until they told me it was showing faults with a "high pressure pump" which might have caused damage or wear to something to do with the cam - or something like that! Long and short, going to be in until the end of the week at least to get the pump replaced and check the cam. At least I got a courtesy car - a 1.2 Polo flying machine!!!!

After looking through the forum and others, it would seem that this is a common fault with this particular year and VW are possibly issuing recalls.

I must say as well, the Arnold Clark branch on Kilmarnock Road was really helpful for a change. I've used the one in Linwood who I found to be a nightmare - terrible customer service and workmanship. Verve also semed to be OK to me - I just couldn't get the car taken there today - too far from home.

Once again, thanks for all your replies and help.

Keep up the good work!

I'd say you've got a bit of a result there, getting that done before the WTY runs out.

By the sounds of it you'll be getting a new camshaft and possibly a new fuel pump.

You're right, vRStu, in a way it is a result - I'm glad the fault has been identified and is being repaired under warranty - I heard, although I don't know if it's correct, that pumps etc can cost hundreds so yep, I'm happy. However, I'll reserve final judgement till I get the car back and find out exactly was replaced/repaired !!

There are a couple of specific fault codes which relate to the low fuel pressure and which will indicate to the dealers to change the parts.
