Engine Bay Spring Clean
« on: 13 August 2008, 09:43 »
Is it possible to get the engine bay like steam cleaned or something? The 8 years have taken it's toll and my engine bay looks a bit worse for wear? What are the options dudes?

get some Meguiars Degreaser or Autoglym Engine cleaner.

cover electrical parts like alternator etc and then spray lots of the cleaner onto the other bits and use an old bursh and give it a good scrub.  Leave for 3-4 minutes then use a hose and rinse off - don't linger too long on any parts.

dry off the excess water as best you can

then spray some Autoglym Bumper care on the plastic parts and leave. Job done

Tip: cover the elctrics with cling film or foil therefore it stays on and easy to remove!

Cheers fellas, I'll be giving that a go this weekend. I'll post up some results after! Has anyone actually done this though? Was everything okay afterwards?
