Her words, not mine. "It has to be German, look good, not wheelspin off the line in the wet, and sound good too, oh and be red, black or silver. Oh and have heated front seats, Xenons, traction control, leather and look like its expensive. Oh and convertible".

....Leaving absolutely no doubt that she's all-woman!!

Lol

Just my opinion, Newgolf!

Prices are a bit more equal in the UK, but over here it's a bit of a no brainer - BMW 320i, Mercedes C class with a 2 litre 4 pot, SLK 200, or Boxster S with all the extras on for the same price....

Hence I've got something coming from Porsche in a couple of month as a weekend car!

Good opinion though, its good to hear what other peoples views are first as its a lot of money to spend on a car without looking into it properly.

Other choices were, but ruled out by her ladyship for various reasons..

A3 convertible, very disapointing, small boot and lots of scuttle shake.
Mini Convertible, no chance, awful to drive.
Porsche Boxster, too wide. Didnt like the bland interior.
TT, not bad but only available FWD which she has a problem with in the wet after having an AWD S4
TTS, better to drive but too much "in your face" with the extra body styling and stands out too much (so I'm told)

Her words, not mine. "It has to be German, look good, not wheelspin off the line in the wet, and sound good too, oh and be red, black or silver. Oh and have heated front seats, Xenons, traction control, leather and look like its expensive. Oh and convertible".

One of the down sides of having a "high maintenance" wife it seems...
In imho the slk is the best looking folding tin top full stop the interior is really nice, the colour has to be black or dark blue, its not the most amazing sports car you will ever drive but should be sporty enough for your lady and the occasional blast by you.
PS can i come over there and have a short back and sides.

She says...

Only 2wd, big scuttle shake and really bad reviews. I like the look of it though

folk's are right there's no comparisson between the golf and all porsche's bar the boxter, that one is for wannabe rich kids.(hopes nobody takes offence)  If i had a porsche i dont know if i could drive it about town as for me it attracts the wrong attention. espec the cabrio's my mate had one and the hood was always getting slashed.
