....I'll try and find out next week and report. I wonder if I'm mixing it up with jump starting as in rolling the car.

It's not the engine, it's the ECU............. A sudden surge of power may damage it or at least throw up fault codes. I would never 'jump' start a modern car.  :wink:

If in doubt, take the battery off and charge it.

....That's it!! Thanks! It all comes back to me - VW Assist were going to get my car to my VW dealer for battery test if it hadn't had enough juice to start. My dealer later checked my battery anyway.

Depends on how hot she was.

Not gonna waste a new ECU on a skank.
