The built in unit works fine with the MFD2, it only really uses it for sound and mutes it when in a call.  The menu of the phone is controlled either by voice if you have the MFSW and/or by the righthand stalk and the premium/full size dash display.

Sorry a bit off topic, but VrStu have you try the parking sensor display stuff on the RNS-510?
